Widespread and infectious disease in a country or community at a particular time is called an epidemic. Corona is a VIRUS (Vital Information Resource Under Size) and it is caused for COVID-19. Here 'Co' for Corona, 'Vi' for Virus, and 'D' for disease. First, it was detected in 2019. So It is called coronavirus disease 2019. Now, it has spread all over the world in the form of epidemics. Bangladesh is not also free from its clutches. The disease caused by the novel coronavirus was first identified in the human body in Wuhan City, China. It is a highly respiratory disease. It is thought to have spread the virus from a lab in Wuhan, China. Again it is said by America that China has deliberately spread the virus to achieve political objectives and be more developed than other countries. In Bangladesh, the first COVID-19 patient was detected on 8 March 2020. The disease is mainly caused by SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19, the epidemic, mainly spread all over the world gradually after detecting in China. The disease is mainly spread by sneezing and coughing. It is also spread through the touch of an infected person. The symptoms of someone infected with coronaviruses are- fever, cough, shortness of breath. In more cases, the infection can cause pneumonia or breathing difficulties. There are some vaccines already invented for the novel coronavirus and these are very effective to increase resistance to disease and fight against coronavirus. Though the vaccine is invented, there is no specific treatment for the disease caused by a novel coronavirus. However, many of the symptoms can be treated based on the patient's clinical condition. Moreover, supportive care for infected persons can be highly effective. Some steps should be taken to protect us from the infection of coronavirus. We should wash our hands frequently using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub. We should cover our mouth and nose with tissue when coughing or sneezing. We should maintain social distancing and avoid close contact with anyone who has cold or flu-like symptoms. We should also use medical masks. Above all, we all should be very careful to protect us from the clutches of coronavirus.
